Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at the airport you will be personally met and escorted by one of our representatives to your accommodation. Here you will have the rest of the day at Leisure. Later in the evening you will meet our guide who will brief you on next day’s activities and tips for the Safari.
Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast you are met by our professional tour guide/driver, who will deliver a short safari info briefing, after which we travel east to the Arusha National Park. This small but beautiful Tanzanian National Park is the closest national park to both the famous Arusha "safari town" (30 km), thus making it ideal for 1-day safaris or tours.
You will enjoy a half-day guided walking safari through the forest to the waterfall and the natural beauty of the hills, mountains and river beds begging to be explored. Expect to see endless acres of forest, welcoming black and white Colobus monkeys, zebras, buffalos and a lot of antelopes. You will also have a chance to observe more than 400 bird species including Crowned Eagle, Lanner Falcon and Levaillants Cuckoo.
After lunch on the beautiful shores of Lake Momella, you will be taken on a game drive through the National park, where you will enjoy the flora and fauna. The animal life in the park is abundant, but it is also one of the most beautiful and topographically varied parks in Tanzania. The park's three most significant features include the rugged Mount Meru (Tanzania's second highest peak at 4566m), the notably different colored Momella Lakes, and the 3km wide Ngurdoto Crater, which was formed about fifteen million years ago! We will do an exciting afternoon and evening game drive, visiting both the Momella Lakes and the Ngurdoto Crater. Wildlife which could be seen includes Cape buffaloes, elephants, hippos, giraffe, warthogs, antelopes, zebras, blue monkeys and sometimes a rare leopard or hyena. Dinner and overnight as per standard and type of accommodation option requested.
Day 2: Mto wa mbu – Ngorongoro – Arusha
After breakfast Early in the Morning we leave the accommodation site to the Ngorongoro viewpoint area so that we can enjoy the sunrise from a distance over the NGORONGORO CRATER you will receive some information about the Crater here before descending about 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for the last day of your Safari. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually been seen here. We will have our lunch at a picnic site near this lake. After this we will ascend from the crater to start our final drive to Arusha to end our Adventure. Dinner and overnight stay as per standard and option requested.
